Christmas campaign 2026

Pack with us: the SEVEN4BOX.

The Seven4Box is a shoebox full of presents for a child in Zakarpattia. Half useful items, half a real present. You can pack it on your own, with your family, or with your whole school, university, company or club. In mid-December we take every box to Vynohradiv ourselves.

What is the Seven4Box?

One box, one child

Every Seven4Box is packed for one specific child and labelled with age and gender.

Half useful, half a present

School supplies and hygiene products, plus something that is simply fun.

Handed over in person

We drive the boxes there ourselves and hand them out with our local partner.

For schools, universities, companies, associations and clubs

Organise a packing event.

Packing together is the most fun. Your class, your seminar, your team at work, your association or club packs lots of Seven4Boxes in one go. You take care of the event on your side, and we help you with it.

01Get in touch

Tell us who you are and roughly how many boxes you want to pack. Then we’ll sort out the date and plan together.

02Get the material

We’ll send you the packing guide and a poster for your packing event, plus digital versions to share.

03Hold your packing event

Pack together, for example in class, in a seminar, at the office or at a club meeting.

04Hand over the boxes

After your packing event, we’ll either collect the boxes from you or send you instructions on how to ship them to us.

05See what arrives

After the distribution we’ll send you photos so you can see where your boxes ended up.

So far, the University of Passau and Andrássy University Budapest, among others, have collected with us. All partners

For individuals and families

Pack your own Seven4Box.

Here’s how, in five steps.

01Find a box

Find a shoebox or a box of similar size. Customs must be able to open it at any time, so please don’t tape it shut.

02Who are you packing for?

Decide whether your box is for a girl or a boy, and for what age.

03Fill the box

Ideas: colouring books, toys, playing cards, dice, construction sets, dolls, toy cars, skipping ropes and other sports equipment, hygiene products, sweets, tea, dried fruit, writing materials and other school supplies.

04Label the box

Write clearly on the box whether it is for a girl or a boy and for what age, for example “Girl, 12”, “Boy, 16” or “Child, 4”.

05Drop it off

Bring your Seven4Box to one of our drop-off points in Hamburg, Passau or Budapest. We’ll announce the exact locations here and on Instagram. No drop-off point near you? Write to us and we’ll send you instructions for shipping it.

Examples: what your Seven4Box could look like

Our rule of thumb: something to play with, something for learning, something for hygiene and a little treat. Half useful, half fun.

Ages 2–4

For the youngest

  • Play: a cuddly toy, large building blocks or a picture book without text
  • Education: chunky crayons and a colouring book
  • Hygiene: children’s toothbrush, children’s toothpaste, mild soap
  • Treat: biscuits or fruit gums

No small parts a child could swallow, please. Label e.g. “Child, 3”.

Ages 5–8

For kindergarten and primary school

  • Play: puzzle, skipping rope or small ball, toy car or doll
  • Education: pencil case with coloured pencils, pencil, eraser, sharpener
  • Hygiene: toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush
  • Treat: chocolate, dried fruit

A new hat or new gloves are worth their weight in gold in winter. Label e.g. “Girl, 6”.

Ages 9–12

For school children

  • Play: card game, dice game or construction toy
  • Education: exercise books, ballpoint pens, ruler, set square
  • Hygiene: toothbrush, toothpaste, bar of soap, comb
  • Treat: chocolate, biscuits, fruit tea

A new scarf or hat is a good fit. Label e.g. “Boy, 10”.

Ages 13–16

For teenagers

  • Play: card game, skipping rope or resistance band
  • Education: notebook, good pens, highlighters
  • Hygiene: deodorant, lip balm, hair ties or hairbrush
  • Treat: chocolate, tea

Teenagers often miss out. A personal card means a lot to them. Label e.g. “Girl, 15”.

For a girl or a boy: adapt the box, for example with hair accessories or a football. Only new items, nothing used. Best put tubes and soap in a freezer bag.

Good to include

Food only if it needs no refrigeration and keeps for a long time. Please don’t pack anything past its expiry date. A postcard or family photo with Christmas greetings and good wishes, in English or Ukrainian, is very welcome.

Please don’t pack

Used clothes or shoes, pictures and games that encourage aggression (for example toy guns, knives, video games), tinned food, perishable food, fruit, fragile items such as mirrors or porcelain dolls, medicines and alcohol.
